Dementia Peer Support

Small Grants for Peer support for people with dementia and/or their carers
2010-2012
- A limited number of grants are available for the voluntary sector and community groups from NHS Bristol for activities for peer support for people with dementia and their carers.
- Peer support is where a group of people come together to support each with having dementia and/or caring for someone with dementia.
- Projects must be ready to start by September/October 2010.
- Initial funding is until March 2012. Grants of up to £3000 for year one and £5000 for year two can be applied for. Projects must provide peer support for people with dementia and/or their carers within Bristol.
- The project could be for people with dementia and their carers to do together, or just for people with dementia or just for carers of people with dementia
Examples of peer support projects include:
- A monthly drop in session for people with dementia and their carers
- Music therapy
- A walking group for people with dementia and their carers
- A cycling group
Applicants will be notified of the outcome by the 20th August 2010
